Meet Sam
Sam has over 18 years of experience in the art of wood making. Each piece is created with care, blending traditional techniques with a genuine love for the work. Passionate about shaping wood into lasting designs, Sam enjoys turning raw materials into something both beautiful and long lasting. He puts his all into each design making sure each customer has exactly what they want and need.
Functional Wood was first started in 2013 in Sam’s garage here in Redmond, Oregon. It began as a hobby but blossomed into a full-time career in the coming years. He is so grateful for the opportunities his community has given him!
When Sam is not working you can find him enjoying time with his family. He has four kids and two bonus kids. They enjoy hiking, water activities or just sitting around a bonfire sipping on lemonades and good conversations.
